Makes One Wonder

Stumbled on some pix of downtown Damascus, Syria, a very interesting city I visited in 2006, when I was teaching in nearby Turkey.

Sad to look at these images of  the central city market and a city square with a statue of Saladin. One can only wonder what they look like now.
